A Northern Rivers resident was displaced during the 2022 Lismore floods, losing her home and belongings. She spent the past three years living in temporary pod village accommodation before recently securing housing and now living independently.
While this is a significant step forward, she continues to experience ongoing mental health challenges and social isolation following prolonged housing instability. She requires a comprehensive psychological assessment to better understand her needs and support access to appropriate services.
This assessment is also a key step in determining her eligibility for the Disability Support Pension, which would provide the financial stability needed to sustain her housing and support her long-term wellbeing.
Currently relying on Centrelink income, she is unable to afford the cost of this assessment. Funding support would help her maintain stability and continue moving forward.
