Recipient story

Help Pilbara’s Jigalong community build safer, healthier homes—your support drives local action and lasting change.
First Nations Support

Domestic & Family Violence
The Jigalong Community-Led Working Bee and Healthy Homes Initiative supports residents in a remote First Nations Aboriginal community in the Pilbara to create safer, cleaner and healthier living environments through community-driven action.
In remote communities like Jigalong, limited access to household goods and maintenance resources can make it challenging for families to maintain safe, healthy homes, contributing to economic hardship and impacting wellbeing. Developed in partnership with residents, Elders, community leaders and service providers, this initiative strengthens local voices while addressing environmental health and housing challenges.
Through removing waste and hazards, improving homes and revitalising shared spaces, the project supports families and children, enhances mental health and safety, and helps reduce risks linked to FDV. It also builds community pride, supports young people and strengthens foundations for education, wellbeing and long-term resilience.
