This couple arrived in Australia in 2022 after the war began. They are elderly and arrived on a tourist visa, prior to seeking asylum here. Due to this visa they receive no government support. They are at risk of homelessness as they are staying with someone who is renting and the landlord has forbidden them to have extra people in the house. They have no where to go. They are trying to learn English, do not have a car and no income as they are unable to work with unstable living arrangements, lack of English. They are relying solely on the kindness of strangers to survive as they are not Eligible for Centrelink income for another 4 years.
They are in dire financial need to survive. They left everything in Ukraine and have lost everthing they worked for due to the war.
