Finally a break for this man who has endured so much loss, he has finally been moved into social housing since becoming homeless during the floods in Nth Qld last year.
After the floods took all the memories and all the belongings he had of his partner of 17 years and his son, who died while incarcerated, this man had been homeless, using all his savings to maintain some dignity in hotel accommodation for over a year. Being on jobseeker he was not eligible for private rentals and so he has had to wait for public housing to assist.
With his medical conditions, ie., being blinded in one eye after a stroke, his kidneys failing him where he loses 2kg a week, his prognosis is terminal. His immune system suffers. He is hoping to make his new abode a place of hope and some comfort after enduring so much grief and loss.
