After over ten years of transience and homelessness, I have finally secured a safe and stable home. As a victim survivor of family violence, my life was thrown into chaos, and during that time I relied on substances to survive the realities of living on the streets. I often had no choice but to squat in abandoned properties, only to be moved on by police and was extremely vulnerable to people who took advantage of my situation.
Now that I have stable housing, my teenage children have been reunified into my care, something I have dreamed of for years. This new chapter is my opportunity to feel safe, settled, and to build a future where I can make my own choices.
Because I am starting again after many years of homelessness, I am seeking support to furnish our home with essential items such as furniture, white goods, and other necessities to create a safe and comfortable environment for myself and my children.
