A single mother living regionally is caring for 4 children. One of whom has a lifelong and life limiting condition that requires frequent travel to and from a major city hospital and for long periods of time.
The mother does not drive.
She is unable to work as she is a full time carer.
She little to no support.
On their recent trip to hospital.... located 8 hours drive from home, the family had to stay for a month. With no support, all four children were in attendance. Mum looked exhausted and withdrawn; her weight plummeting. At the end of her stay, she had cut off her long hair with scissors in the night because felt too overwhelming. Mum's mental health is quickly declining and she is in need of assistance.
With mounting medical bills, rent, groceries, the essentials seem to be compacting and taking an emotional and physical toll. Mum skipping meals to make the food stretch further to feed the children first.
