A recently widowed single mother of four is experiencing significant stress, carer fatigue, and financial pressure while supporting two children with special needs (and big behaviours), grieving a traumatic loss, and managing limited support networks alongside the ongoing impacts of past DFV. She previously worked full‑time but has had to reduce her hours due to her caring responsibilities. Her application for the carer’s pension is still being processed, leaving the family with a substantial financial shortfall that is making it difficult to cover essential bills, medication, and food.
Mum is only able to shop online due to her children’s needs and the absence of any practical support, which makes it impossible for her to access local food banks. This has created additional financial strain, and grocery vouchers would provide meaningful and immediate relief for both her and the children.
