Recipient story

Supporting three students who were at risk and are now showing up to attend school camp in Perth
First Nations Support
Other hardship(s)
Three children from the Learning on Dawang program are now in Year 6, a key milestone in their schooling. Not long ago, each was at risk of disengaging, facing challenges that made attendance and participation difficult. Through culturally grounded, on-Country learning and strong relationships, they have rebuilt confidence, re-engaged, and are now showing up.

This progress reflects their effort, alongside support from mentors and families who understand their world. They are now participating alongside peers and beginning to see themselves as capable and included.

The upcoming school camp is more than a trip. It marks the end of primary school and a shared experience of belonging and achievement. Missing out risks reinforcing exclusion at a critical time.

Cost is now the only barrier. Without support, they may not attend.

Supporting them now ensures they continue forward with confidence, connection, and a real sense of belonging.
