History & current domestic violence - also went through floods and lost household items
2025 North & Far North QLD Floods

During the floods in February 2026, she was staying with family while needing to remain in hiding and was cut off from regular supports, increasing fear and distress, lost her household items in the flood event and from not being able to get stuff dry - beds went mouldy and lost her linen, fridge, washing machine, dryer, microwave .
She had previously lived in her vehicle and spent long periods constantly on edge, hypervigilant, and fearful for her safety before accepting help and setting up home in the lower part of a family members home.
Has relocated to Gladstone due to needing a safe and secure place to live and is now in community housing but is struggling to settle due to having very limited household items. A Domestic Violence Support Worker is currently case managing and supporting her.
