Previously homeless as a result of family and domestic violence, is seeking support to improve her home's security wit

Domestic & Family Violence
Homelessness
Over the last 10 months, Trudie has experienced ongoing family and domestic violence, resulting in significant trauma and safety concerns. Following the release of her adult sons from prison, their behaviour escalated, causing Trudie to fear for her safety and ultimately forcing her to flee her home. More recently, Trudie was assaulted by her partner, further impacting her wellbeing and increasing her fears of future harm. Trudie is now working with support services to rebuild her life, maintain her tenancy, and recover from these experiences. However, she continues to feel vulnerable in her home and requires additional security measures to help her feel safe. A Crim safe security door has been identified as a critical safety upgrade that would provide increased protection, reduce anxiety, and support her ongoing recovery. Due to financial hardship, Trudie is unable to afford the purchase and installation costs. Assistance through GIVIT would help her remain safely housed.
