Client, 53-year-old single mother of 3 sons with alcohol and substance abuse issues, and mental health diagnoses (trauma and extreme domestic violence from ex-husband with schizophrenia); forcing client to flee across 3 states in the past 20 yrs.
Client’s rented home requires 90% of weekly benefits, forcing her to reside with 2 sons who assist with living expenses.
Client cannot work or drive, depends on disability pension, and relies on a mobility scooter/aids. She suffers with a degenerative spinal condition, hydrocephalus and myelomalacia - severely impacting movement, and causing ongoing migraine headaches (necessitates days of bed rest).
Client has been referred to a pain management clinic. She declined said referral in the past due to inability to fund the appt fee of $490 ($339 after Medicare rebate). As pain levels are increasing, and she is often bedridden; she is now desperately seeking assistance to fund her appointment as this is now becoming a necessity.
