A remote pastoral family is still recovering from the March 2025 western Queensland floods, which inundated the lower level of their home and destroyed their main living area.
Living in a remote location makes recovery more challenging, with limited shopping options, high freight costs and long travel distances increasing the cost of replacing household items. The family has prioritised repairing their home and keeping their cattle property operating, but they are still rebuilding their lives more than a year later.
