Young aboriginal mother & her 3 children have experienced significant disruption and hardship following severe flooding that displaced their family from their home. Since the flooding, they have been living in temporary accommodation, which has brought ongoing challenges, including isolation from family, community supports & cultural connections.
Recent weather has further impacted their living situation, with mold affecting their temporary accommodation resulting in the loss of essential household items. As a result, the family has had to leave the accommodation & are currently staying with family while they work towards re-establishing a safe & stable living environment.
Mum is navigating these challenges on her own while managing multiple medical appointments & support needs for both herself & her children. The ongoing uncertainty, combined with the demands of caring for 3 children, has placed considerable emotional, financial & practical pressure on the family.
