Year 7 First Nations Student is seeking a laptop of their own
First Nations Support
This Year 7 First Nations student has recently started high school and is eager to succeed academically and fully engage in school life. As the school has a Bring Your Own Device (BYO) requirement, access to a personal laptop is essential for completing classwork, homework, and research tasks.
The student is being raised by a single parent who is currently unable to afford a laptop. Having their own device would remove barriers to participation and provide equal access to learning opportunities alongside peers.
A personal laptop would also support the student’s wellbeing, confidence, and sense of belonging at school by reducing the stigma and stress associated with borrowing an equity device each day. This support would help the student feel included, prepared, and empowered to achieve their educational goals.
