Many of our women clients are seeking support to buy food due to a cost-of-living crisis that outpaces their income. Some live in overcrowded housing where food runs out quickly, leaving children frequently hungry. The mental and emotional toll of these struggles is significant.
Currently, there are no distribution points or centers able to provide sufficient provisions. The only vouchers available are worth $20, which is insufficient given the number of people to feed at any one time. This situation has, at times, driven individuals to steal food when shopping.
We believe that providing vouchers to our clients in need would offer meaningful relief and help ensure that families have access to adequate food during this difficult period.
