To support the safety and stability of a placement for two sisters who have been informally placed with their older sister.

Following an assessment by Child Safety, it was determined that the two younger siblings, aged 6 and 13, were to be placed with their older sibling, aged 19 years of age. The older sibling/carer is determined to give her younger siblings the best possible chance as she was also raised in the same circumstances. The children came to live with her with very few possessions. The carer is currently working full-time as a dental assistant and spending significant portion of her small wage on babysitting as the girls are not yet enrolled to attend school (to be completed following the school holidays). Having some additional supports in place will greatly assist the carer to meet her siblings needs and alleviate any financial stressors this is having on the young carer.
