This young Afghan refugee is experiencing significant financial hardship as she tries to rebuild her life in Australia. She is a new arrival with very low income and is currently studying English to integrate into the community. She has never owned a laptop, which makes her learning extremely difficult and limits her ability to complete homework, access online resources, or communicate with her teachers. In Afghanistan, she was unable to continue her education after the Taliban takeover, which prevented many girls and young women from studying. Now, she is deeply motivated to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, but she cannot progress without the basic tools required for her education. A laptop would provide her with essential access to learning, stability, and the opportunity to finally follow the path that was denied to her for so long.
