Consumer stayed behind to fight the January Victorian bushfires, in a huge effort to save their rental home and possessions.
In an effort to remain prepared in case the fire became too much for them to sustain, they packed their car with most of their possessions, some of which included their children's much-loved artwork and family mementos as well as their employment equipment.
Unfortunately, while bucketing water from a dam, the car and all its contents were lost to fire.
The consumer sustained a medical injury as a result of fighting the fires and is now contemplating required surgery and all its financial and recovery implications, while also continuing to attempt to recover from the fire experience and all the trauma that continues to bring.
