This elderly participant lives in a rural and very isolated area and is currently facing significant health challenges after being diagnosed with brain cancer. As a result of the illness and treatment, they experience mobility issues and several other serious medical complications that make everyday tasks extremely difficult.
They do not own a smartphone or computer, which means they currently have no way to access essential online services. Living so remotely also makes it hard to reach local shops, and due to financial are unable to afford the fuel needed to travel or access transport support for basic necessities.
An iPad or tablet would allow the participant to order groceries and other essentials online and have them delivered to their home. This would greatly reduce the physical strain and logistical barriers they face when trying to meet their daily needs. It would also help them maintain independence and reduce reliance on already limited support services.
