This request is for a devoted single mother of two young children who is at real risk of homelessness. She is doing everything she can to secure a stable rental and keep her children in the community they know and love.
She is an active and valued member of the local school, serving as President of the parent committee, and her children are enrolled and thriving there. Remaining in this area is critical for their stability and wellbeing.
The family is currently living in extremely difficult conditions in a temporary arrangement. Their home relies on a generator for power, and does not generate enough power to run a fridge, leaving them without safe food storage, and exacerbates the mother's health issues as she lives with physical disability (arthritis).
After the 2022 floods, direct access to town was lost - requiring a 35 min detour each way and huge additional fuel costs. The house and many belongings have been destroyed by mould after the floods and TC Alfred.
