This family has spent the past five years navigating an incredibly difficult medical journey with their 13 year old son, who was diagnosed with leukaemia. Shortly after his diagnosis, his father suffered a stroke that left him with lifelong side effects. Despite these immense challenges, the family has remained strong and deeply connected.
Their son has since undergone a bone marrow transplant and now experiences ongoing complications from graft versus host disease, requiring frequent hospital visits and specialist care. Last year, the family relocated from New Zealand to Adelaide to ensure he could access the treatment he needs.
Unfortunately, both parents have recently been made redundant from their jobs, leaving them under significant financial pressure while still caring for their son’s complex medical needs.
The family is seeking support in the form of fuel and grocery vouchers, which would provide immediate relief during this difficult period.
