Our client has a back injury that has left her unable to lift her leg enough to be able to get on the bus.

Without a car, public transport is the only option. But what about when it's not an option? Our client is injured and unable to walk more than a few feet. She is unable to lift her legs enough to climb the steps of the bus. She already has life long struggles with mental health and has never been able to work. Living alone, she has very few supports and is struggling to just get by.
To get to the doctor, the physio, shopping, or even to come into our office for Emergency Relief, she needs to pay for a taxi. All short trips, but several times a day, several times a week, these costs add up significantly when your only income is the Disability Pension.
