This older woman has endured a lifetime of violence and trauma that is difficult to comprehend. The perpetrator is currently in prison but is due to be released soon, so she is bravely leaving her community and starting again in a new town to find safety.
She is moving into a very simple caravan with very few possessions and is rebuilding her life from scratch. With the help of her community, we have been resourceful in sourcing some of the essentials she needs, but there is very little beyond the basics.
After everything she has experienced, she deserves a safe place where she can finally breathe and experience some ordinary comforts. A television may seem like a small request, but for someone living so simply, it would provide entertainment, distraction and a way to unwind at the end of the day.
Most importantly, she now has a safe home where her grandchildren can visit. A TV would allow them to sit together, have a cuddle and watch a movie, simple family moments that bring joy.
