This First Nations grandmother has dedicated much of her life to caring for family and community providing a safe and welcoming home for her daughter, granddaughter, and extended family. Despite experiencing economic hardship she continues to prioritise the wellbeing of those around her.
She lives with a disability that significantly impacts her mobility and ability to undertake physically demanding household tasks. In addition, she is still grieving the loss of her grandson which has had a profound impact on her emotional wellbeing and capacity to manage day to day responsibilities.
Her home has become increasingly difficult to maintain due to the combined effects of disability, grief and limited financial resources. Assistance with household maintenance will help create a safe and healthy living environment, support her ongoing care of her granddaughter, and enable her to maintain the stable and nurturing home she has worked hard to provide for her family.
