The client has experienced a significant decline in their overall health due to cancer and other ongoing medical conditions. Unfortunately, they are currently unable to access cancer treatment because of their complex health issues. As a result of their deteriorating condition, the client is no longer able to walk the distances required to complete essential community activities such as grocery shopping. This has led to increased social isolation, as they are unable to leave their home independently.
Provision of a wheelchair would greatly improve the client's ability to access the community with the assistance of a support worker. A wheelchair would enable the client to attend shopping appointments, maintain access to essential services, and participate in social interactions, which are important for their wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
