The majority of welfare agencies have a close down during the Christmas Holidays. Some for several weeks to allow their volunteers a good rest. What happens to the clients that require regular food relief support during this time?
We would like to put together Christmas Closure Survival Packs that contain basic grocery items to give clients that we know will need assistance during the week that we are closed.
These packs will contain things like pasta, pasta sauce, UHT milk, jam or vegemite, dry biscuits, canned proteins, canned vegetables, canned fruits, stock, cooking oil, flour, cereal, tea & coffee and basic toiletries including shampoo and toilet paper.
We estimate that these packs will cost approximately $50 each to make. If we make up 50 packs, the total cost will be $2500. Even in increments of $20, every donation will help us get closer to our goal and provide support to those in need during our Christmas closure.
