Help replace a stolen bike so a DFV survivor’s child can reach support
Domestic & Family Violence
GIVIT
This family is led by a single mother raising four children after fleeing domestic and family violence. They endured a prolonged refugee journey before finally securing a safe private rental home. The mother relies on welfare support due to caring responsibilities and mental health impacts from trauma. Despite limited income, she prioritised her children’s wellbeing and saved to purchase a mountain bike for her eldest child. The bike allowed him to travel independently to a local youth program, supporting positive social connection, structure, and confidence. Just one month after purchase, the bike was stolen. The family cannot afford a replacement, as funds are directed to rent, food, and essentials. Without the bike, the child’s access to the program is significantly reduced. A donated mountain bike would restore independence, support wellbeing, and relieve financial pressure on a family rebuilding safety and stability. Thank you for your consideration.
