After the 2025 floods, this man lost everything—his home completely submerged, with only the roof visible above the water. At the time, he was visiting his wife and children in Sydney, unable to return and save anything. What was meant to be a fresh start and a peaceful tree change quickly turned into starting over from nothing.
With no insurance and limited government support, he has been steadily working to rebuild his home on his own. Right now, he is living with no hot water and just one usable room—but he continues on without complaint and never asks for help.
We share his story to acknowledge his strength, determination, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going, even in the toughest of circumstances.
