Client is a long-term Aboriginal resident of the Northern Rivers and was impacted by the 2022 floods. One month ago, her 21-year-old daughter died by suicide while living and studying in Sydney. The family has been devastated by the loss.
The client and her partner travelled from Mullumbimby to Sydney following their daughter's passing and have now returned to Sydney to pack up her belongings and vacate her rental accommodation by 10 June. The family has continued paying rent on the property since her death, creating significant and unexpected financial strain.
The client also has two other dependent teenage children. Costs associated with multiple trips to Sydney, ongoing rent, and transporting their daughter's belongings back to Mullumbimby have placed considerable pressure on the family during an already traumatic time.
Support is sought for travel expenses, fuel and grocery vouchers, removalist costs, and freight or transport of belongings.
