Mum and her 4 kids (12, 11, 9, and 5 year olds) have been homeless for more than 18 months after mum made the brave decision to leave their dad who was choosing to use violence against her.
The family have been moving between hostels and families' couches which has been very disruptive to the kids' routines. This has particularly impacted mum's 11 year old son who has special needs and is currently being assessed for Autism.
Mum is exploring ways to create stability and routine in their current lifestyle and help him manage his sensory needs. Little man LOVES music and his schoolteachers have said that he responds really well at school when provided noise cancelling headphones to help him learn to self-regulate. Mum really wants to continue this effort from school at home.
