The client is a vulnerable teenager, currently experiencing significant financial hardship following family breakdown
He is in the process of returning back to education; however, he is still struggling with his family breakdown and is financially struggling. As a result, the client is struggling to meet basic living expenses, including food and general cost-of-living pressures. He reports limited access to food and is currently relying on his mother, who is currently not working, due to a back injury to support the household. The client has minimal supports within his family and is currently only linked into our mental health service. A key barrier to improving his financial situation is that he has food available to eat. This is significantly impacting his ability to operate and attend school, while focusing on tasks at hand. The client presents as being in urgent need of support. Without intervention, the client’s situation is likely to deteriorate further due to ongoing financial strain and limited capacity to attend education.
