We are a charity supporting children and families in rural and remote communities across Australia. Many families travel long distances to access developmental assessments for their children, often while managing significant personal, social and financial challenges.
The families we support are frequently navigating complex circumstances, including mental ill-health, family violence, housing instability, financial hardship, social isolation, substance misuse, and involvement with child protection services. Many are raising children with complex developmental needs while experiencing limited access to specialist services and support networks in their local communities.
These pressures can be compounded by the demands of travel, time away from home, and the uncertainty that often accompanies a child's assessment journey. Our team sees firsthand the resilience of these families and the profound impact that timely support can have during periods of heightened stress and vulnerability.
