I am writing in support of a young First Nations woman who, over the past twelve months, has demonstrated remarkable strength, commitment, and determination in turning her life around.
She has taken significant and consistent steps toward positive change and these efforts reflect her strong commitment to healing, personal growth, and creating a safe and nurturing environment for her children.
She has also completed a hospitality training course and has successfully gained casual employment, demonstrating her motivation to build stability and independence for herself and her family.
After spending four years on the housing waiting list, she has recently been allocated a home. While this is a major achievement, the property is an older Queenslander with unmaintained floorboards and exposed nails, creating safety concerns—particularly for young children. At this time, she is seeking assistance with essential household items to help make the home safe and functional.
