We have been supporting a 95year old elderly gentleman with a heart condition and his 92year old disabled wife who live in a relocatable home that was impacted by the 2017 and 2022 floods which saw them loose their home. They were able to replace their possessions under insurance which they now can't afford nor get as the insurance is out of reach for most working people let alone two disabled people who are so elderly and need to prioritise medications before insurance.
He has a heart condition, and his wife is very frail as well and unable to do many things as to which he does. They replace the oven after the 2022 floods but have since been told by an electrician that it is unfixable. They are desperate to get a new stove as they are struggling to be able to eat as healthy as they can with a microwave.
They are both frail but want to stay together on their home so they can look after each other and stay together as long as they can.
