The client is an Aboriginal single mother living in public housing with her children. She is currently experiencing significant difficulties maintaining the property's large front and rear yards due to financial hardship and limited resources.
As a result of the ongoing property standard concerns, the client has received a breach notice from the housing provider and is at risk of further tenancy action, which may place her tenancy at risk and increase the likelihood of homelessness if the issues are not addressed promptly.
The client has demonstrated a willingness to improve the condition of the property; however, she does not have access to the necessary equipment to maintain the lawns and gardens. A lawn mower would provide the client with the means to regularly maintain the yard and meet her tenancy obligations.
