Client is a single mother with a 4-year-old child who was significantly impacted by the 2022 floods. Since that time, they have experienced ongoing housing instability and have been moved through multiple temporary accommodations.
They are currently living in a tent, which is deteriorating and no longer providing adequate shelter. The client is in the process of renovating a van to create a safer and more stable living environment for herself and her child while continuing to seek long-term housing.
They are staying at local campgrounds which provide a level of safety; however, the associated costs are high and are placing significant financial strain on the client. This is leaving her with very limited capacity to afford essential items such as food and fuel.
Client is seeking support to assist with basic living costs (e.g. food and fuel vouchers) and practical assistance to help improve their current living situation while they work towards securing stable accommodation
