Homeless family of 5, 3 children attending school and one parent working full time, needing new glasses
This homeless family-of-5 has been camping, couch surfing and accessing short term assistance since the start of December 2025 following the end of a long-term residential tenancy beyond their control. The three primary school aged children are extremely well engaged in their local school, attending every day and doing their best in class and with their peers, despite their housing circumstances. The school and parents have identified that all 3 children require new eyeglasses to replace pairs that were misplaced during their homelessness. Likewise, one of the parents works in a job that requires good vision for safety and job performance. This adult's glasses are old and damaged. All household income is going towards high costs of living associated with homelessness, as well as working to secure stable long-term accommodation. The family are extremely well engaged with services and have asked for very little financial assistance.
