Single mother hanging on by a thread
GIVIT
A single mother residing in regional Australia is struggling deeply with her mental health as she cares for her 2 young children, both with life limiting disabilities; she has significant financial pressures and limited support. The father left the family unexpectedly 6 months prior and has terminated all contact or future involvement with the family.
The mother is grieving her family, but also exhausted from the 24-hour care required for her children, the constant travel to and from major cities for healthcare access and upcoming surgeries. She has expressed feeling suicidal herself and completely helpless in the situation.
Whilst she has been referred to many other support services, she lacks the energy to engage and is struggling from every aspect. We are seeking support to assist with some of the daily practicalities to ease the pressure.
