Client has recently had a drastic life change. Before coming to our services my client was financially, verbally and physically abused by her adopted Father. My client was in care by her adopted Father for 15 years and within that time has suffered from abuse. My client has become a mother of three daughters who were also witnesses of the abuse. The three children also suffered from verbal abuse by their grandfather. The last incident of abuse that occurred gave client no choice but to leave and become homeless. My client was then brought to our Refuge. Three weeks into their accommodation agreement an incident occurred where Mother became violent with children. As a result of this, the children were uplifted and now in the care of DCJ leaving mother now homeless and without financial support as she is a New Zealand citizen with no financial entitlements. My client is now in crisis, homeless and navigating life as a lone woman.
