After months of couch surfing, this young mum has finally secured a home of her own for herself and her four‑month‑old son. While this is a positive step forward, it is also the first time she has ever lived alone, and the adjustment has been extremely challenging.
Her home is on a busy road with constant vehicle and foot traffic. Unfamiliar noises, particularly at night, trigger significant anxiety, and not being able to see what’s happening outside leaves her feeling unsafe. This fear has severely disrupted her sleep and is negatively impacting her mental health at an already vulnerable time.
Outdoor security cameras would provide much‑needed reassurance by allowing her to quickly identify noises and feel more in control of her surroundings.
