We are supporting a young mother with a disability who is expecting her second child in September. She is a caring and dedicated parent who works hard to meet both her own needs and those of her young son, with very limited support. Having grown up in foster care, she does not have a family support network and manages all aspects of daily life and parenting on her own.
Her son also has a disability, and due to her own health needs and his additional care requirements, she is not currently able to work.
She only recently learned she was 20 weeks pregnant, which came as a significant shock. While she feels excited, she is also understandably overwhelmed by the limited time she now has to prepare.
We are seeking support to help ease financial pressure and ensure she and her baby have a positive and supported start.
