A single mother and her two children with additional support needs are rebuilding their lives after escaping domestic and family violence. Following a period in a women's refuge, the family secured a private rental and began establishing safety and stability.
After only six months in the property, they have been advised that their lease will not be renewed and are now at risk of homelessness if alternative housing cannot be secured. The family is currently awaiting support through the Department of Housing but has no confirmed placement or housing support.
The home has also been affected by significant mould, resulting in the loss of essential household items including bedding, pillows, curtains, clothing, and kitchen items.
