A survivor of non‑fatal strangulation that resulted in an acquired brain injury (ABI), causing significant cognitive impairment, reduced memory, slowed processing, and difficulty managing daily tasks. Alongside the ABI, she experiences complex PTSD, persistent anxiety, and severe social isolation, all of which further limit her ability to engage safely and confidently in the community. She has minimal to no informal supports and struggles to navigate essential systems, services, and appointments independently. Her injuries and mental health conditions prevent her from working, and she relies solely on the Disability Support Pension. This creates substantial financial impairment, restricting her ability to meet basic needs, access transport, or pay for essential supports. The combination of trauma, disability, and financial hardship places her in ongoing vulnerability, highlighting the need for consistent, trauma‑informed, long‑term support to improve stability, safety and participation
