A large family from Iran have been homeless for over 5 months. Much of that time the family slept in their car.
This large family, a couple with 6 children, originally from Iran, have returned to the ACT without anywhere to live. They had gone to Victoria hoping for new opportunities, unfortunately it didn't work out. The husband has serious health issues and is waiting on open heart surgery. A 16-year-old daughter has cerebral palsy and requires a lot of support. The family have endured prolonged homelessness, including several months sleeping in their car. Recently they have moved into transitional housing, only to discover that items they had in storage have been stolen. One of the items is a C-Pap machine. The husband requires this machine for health reasons and is putting his health at risk by not using it. To replace this C-pap machine it is very expensive. The family are managing on a low income and would appreciate any assistance with replacing the C-Pap machine.
