We are currently working with a single mother of 4, including a 10 week old baby. This mother is experiencing extreme financial hardship after escaping a violent relationship following the recent birth of her son. The father of baby does not contribute to cover the costs of caring for a newborn. Mum is currently sharing a house with a friend and her children-overcrowding is an issue and she is at risk of homelessness as her housing situation isn't sustainable. Mum has worked extremely hard to maintain sobriety, she has worked alongside the department to do everything asked of her to keep baby happy, healthy and safe. We are seeking some fuel vouchers or other vouchers to assist with the houshold finances. Mum is struggling to pay for fuel to allow her to get to her and baby's health, and mental health appointments, and to stay connected to her support groups. Any assistance with this is much appreciated.
