Amidst the rugged peaks of the Scenic Rim, a vital lifeline quietly endures. Every fortnight, up to 40 men gather. A mix of Aboriginal elders, young Indigenous men, and community allies united by a deep respect for First Nations culture. This group provides a completely confidential and safe sanctuary where members can find solidarity. Without breaching their privacy, many in this circle have quietly navigated immense hardships, overcoming severe personal crisis, mental health battles, social dislocation, and the heavy impacts of consecutive severe weather events in the region. Yet, within this trusted space, they find healing and purpose. At the heart of this group is a proud Aboriginal elder. Driven by a fierce commitment to his community, he has completely self-funded this entire program out of his own pocket. To ensure these fortnightly gatherings continue, he personally purchases and provides all the food for the men. He cannot carry this financial weight alone anymore.
