A young non-binary person is facing homelessness after being exited from transitional accommodation. They rely solely on Youth Allowance, are not eligible for JobSeeker, and have no family support due to discrimination related to their queer identity. They are experiencing significant financial hardship and have no clear housing pathway ahead.
The client has a history of depression and their antidepressant prescription has expired. Due to a lack of funds, they have been unable to attend a GP appointment to renew their medication.
Support with grocery vouchers and fuel vouchers would help meet immediate essential needs and enable travel to medical appointments to renew vital medication and access ongoing support. Any assistance would help reduce the impact of this crisis and support their wellbeing during a period of extreme vulnerability.
