My client is a 57-year-old man whose life changed dramatically following a serious work-related incident that left him permanently disabled and reliant on a mobility scooter. After losing his ability to work and his TAC payments ceasing, he could no longer afford the rent on the home he had maintained for 14 years, ultimately leading to homelessness.
Despite these challenges, my client remains a kind, resilient, and compassionate person who always has time for others. He has recently been offered a community housing property through Unison, which he proudly calls his "forever home."
With GIVIT's support, he will be able to furnish his new home with essential household items, giving him the opportunity to rebuild his life, regain his independence, and thrive in a safe and stable home.
