A single mother and her 11-yrs-old daughter are currently experiencing homelessness and have been living out of their car for the past month. Despite these extremely challenging circumstances, this mum is working tirelessly to secure stable housing for her family. She has submitted multiple rental applications but, so far, has had no success.
At this stage, living in their car is their only option. To give her daughter the best possible chance at stability, she has chosen not to enter short-term accommodation so she can save every possible dollar toward establishing a new tenancy. Her priority is to secure a rental before May. She is carefully setting aside funds for essential household items such as white goods and basic furniture so that, when she is approved for a property, she can move in quickly. However, the cost of these essentials is a significant barrier. Kmart and The Good Guys white goods vouchers would make a meaningful difference, particularly for a fridge or a WM.
