We are supporting a single mum of four children, ranging from 5 - 15. Three of her children are living in foster care, and the youngest has recently been reunified with his father. This mum has a disability, a pervasive mental health issue and has recently been evicted, making her homeless. Despite these hardships, she continues to prioritise her children, holding a strong relationship with her daughters, who she sees frequently. She is desperate to see her son again, however, now that Child Safety have exited, she needs to pay for a contact supervisor and location so she can see her son.
She is living with her partner. There is a DVO in place, which creates another level of stress, as he is both a source of stress and a source of safety, as she navigates sleeping rough. She is facing significant risk at this time and we hope to continue the support until we can stabilise her in safe accommodation, where she can begin to rebuild her life.
